A calendar that keeps your data on your own machine.
xrncal is a calendar app for Windows, Linux and Android. It stores everything in a local SQLite database on your device and syncs that database with the accounts you connect — Google Calendar, Microsoft 365 or any CalDAV server.
How it works
- Local first. The database on your device is the source of truth. The app reads and writes it directly and works offline; syncing pushes your changes out and pulls other devices' changes in.
- No servers in the middle. The app talks to your calendar providers directly. There is no xrncal account, no xrncal backend, and no copy of your calendar anywhere but your device and your provider.
- Credentials stay encrypted. Access tokens are encrypted at rest with the operating system's own keystore, never written in plain text.
